Cushion moss can retain enormous amounts of excess water and helps balancing the humidity in its surroundings by releasing water when the surroundings get dry. The moss can also serve simply decorative purposes outdoors and indoors. It can be further cultivated outdoors in a shady spot on lime-free soils.
